Other Pride organizers chose to move the LGBTQ+ community celebration of self-affirmation and visibility to September or October, which is LGBTQ+ History Month. Some major cities are taking their celebrations online where those who want to take part can follow planned activities live over streaming platforms. While the uncertainty that the covid-19 pandemic has caused forced the postponement of Pride parades in some cities until 2022 out of an abundance of caution, organizers in other major cities found a workaround. Pride Weekend, which traditionally falls on the last weekend of June each year to commemorate the Stonewall Riots can be celebrated year-round, and no more true than this year.
